Gakked from compostwormbin:

Your Political Profile:
Overall: 55% Conservative, 45% Liberal
Social Issues: 75% Conservative, 25% Liberal
Personal Responsibility: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Fiscal Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal
Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal
Defense and Crime: 100% Conservative, 0% Liberal

When asked what my political leanings are by others, I usually reply that I am a "canoe moderate" -- I go to the right on some things, to the left on others, but usually end up going more-or-less down the middle. I'm officially a Republican Conservative (although NOT the type of conservative that is currently flying false colors under that name -- see my earlier post-cum-rant on the subject for more, if you like), which often makes me feel out-of-place in pagan circles, where Democratic ultra-liberals tend to abound.

Given the Jim Hightower quote, "There's nothing in the middle of the road but a yellow stripe and dead armadillos" at many gatherings I feel more like the latter than the former, having been run over by the Mack truck of prevailing opinions there.
Current Mood: mellowmellow
Current Music: "Black and White Rag" by George Botsford

Weird quiz.

Have you ever taken the Political Compass questionaire? It's pretty interesting and plots your beliefs on a 2 dimensional graft which, i dunno, somehow feels more encompassing. Try it, its kinda fun. :o)

Heh. Gotta love Jim.

Re: Weird quiz.

I remember having done that test a few years back, around the time I made this entry, which has a political dimension like this post does. But I did the test again just for the heck of it and got similar results to what I remember having gotten before -- more-or-less in the center, but not dead center.

Your political compass

Economic Left/Right: -2.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.21

That puts me in the same quadrant as the results page places Gandhi, Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama.

Not bad company to be in. :D
