 | 11:09 pm - Lucky find

Went to Tower Records in Manhattan this evening and had a spot of luck.
I was able to find a set of Harry Potter movies for half the normal price -- $40 instead of about $80. It's an 8-DVD set -- all four of the films being the Special Edition versions in widescreen with all the fancy-schmancy extras. Apparently I'd somehow managed to find the one set in the store that still had the special DVD-release-day price, so I only had to pay the marked $40 price, not the current one, so I was happy at my good fortune.
I was also able to pick up two-disc special editions of "Lord of War" (which I wrote about in this post) and "Snatch" (the latter being on sale to boot), so I'm quite pleased with my shopping trip's results.
I'm now looking forward to enjoying Alan Rickman's Snape performances for the first time since the movies were originally shown in theaters. Mmmmmmmmmm . . . snark . . . Current Mood: chipper Current Music: "Forward to Time Past" -- Harry Potter & the PoA soundtrack

BTW, I love your icon of reasons to switch to the Dark Side. They do have most of the attractive ones, don't they? I'm reminded of a story Misha told me from his childhood. When he was very small, Misha's parents took him and his older brother to see Disney's Sleeping Beauty (1959.) As they were driving home, Misha's brother said Princess Aurora, Sleeping Beauty, was the prettiest woman he had ever seen. His parents were charmed. And Misha said, "The Princess was boring! I want to marry the evil witch Maleficent!" ( http://www.wdccduckman.com/malefcnt.htm) And the car went very quiet... That story is great!!! :D BTW, I love your icon of reasons to switch to the Dark Side. They do have most of the attractive ones, don't they? They certainly do in MY opinion!!!! The dark side has never looked more tempting . . . But then again, there are always a few exceptions . . . Persephone |
