|06:13 pm - Becoming a more powerful vampire|
I've been playing an on-line vampire game since mid-September & my vampire is progressing nicely. It's known as Vampires! The Dark Alleyway officially & RavenBlack Vampires unofficially.
To play the game, click here & enter your new vampire's name.
There's also a database where you can post your vampire's statistics. To see how my vampy is doing compared to others in the list, click here.
My vampire, TheEntwife, currently has 3 powers -- Shadows, Stamina & Suction. Unlike most other players, I haven't gotten the power of Thievery for my vampire . . . yet. I don't like it when my coins are stolen, so I won't do that to others . . . unless they did it to me first -- I've been keeping a list of those folks, which I intend to use at some future time. They're prey, as far as I'm concerned -- any kind of an in-game attack on me makes one fair game in my book!
Not being a thief means it takes me longer to get the coins I need to pay for powers & in-game items like scrolls & drinks since my only source of income is humans. This is not altogether a bad thing, since it prolongs the period of my vampire's maturation -- I'm not sure what I'll do with her once she's fully powered & has a nice bankroll. One thing I will be doing is using that little list I mentioned before, but after a while that may be boring. Boredom is the real problem here -- while I'm still questing for powers & hunting humans, it's fun -- after I have all the powers (yes, even Thievery, at that point), then what? Engage in clan warfare? Not terribly interesting to me . . . Continue to hunt humans & fatten my bankroll & bloodpoint count? I fear my vampire will die of boredom -- literally, since I'll get bored, not play for longer & longer periods until she fades into the Shadows & is heard from no more. (Inactive vampires get deleted after a few weeks.)
This is also the reason I'm not currently contemplating donating to the game. Although it would keep my vampire alive (as well as get rid of those annoying ads), since donating inactive vampys are not purged from the system, you also get several powers, most of which can be gotten in-game. For most players that is a plus, but for me it makes impending boredom come that much sooner.
But for now I'm not bored -- anything but, in fact, since I find the game to be mildly addictive, in a good way of course!
