"They were going to send me to the land of Milk and Honey, but I explained I'm a vegan and they made other arrangements."

From kenazf's story "Sensitivity Training", from his "Afterlife" series of stories. More info about the series here.

Being a brand new vegan (7 days so far) I just love it! :)

Nice to see you commenting here again! :) I missed you!

Kevin is incredibly funny, both in real life as well as in his writing. Go read the other stories -- I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

I did a spit-take when I read that line -- I have quite a few friends who are either vegetarian or vegan. BTW, since you are new to veganism, look at some of the communities I'm a member of (on my user-info page) -- I have a collection of vegan-friendly ones you might want to either join or poke around in looking for recipes.

It's good to be back. Poor health and computer problems minimized my LJ involvement for a couple of months.

I also have quite a few vegan recipes I've collected from LJ in the Recipes section of my Memories, in case you want to look there. (Forgot to include this in the preceding reply-comment. My Bad.) Try my Vegan Cream of Tomato Soup with Chickpeas recipe too, esp. if you have issues with sugar. Everything in kreeli's LJ is vegan too, BTW.

Thanks for the info! Once I am eating a wider range of foods I'll check it out for recipe ideas.
