I've been adding songs to my Last.fm profile by the album-load. Last.fm powers the Audioscrobbler personal radio station I have -- which is also accessible from my Last.fm profile -- enabling me to share my musical tastes with those who are interested in finding out what they are. Those who click on the personal radio button will be able to get a random selection of songs in my profile streamed to them, provided the song is in the Last.fm database. (The songs are licensed through the various record companies for streaming and are mostly not available for download.)

Unfortunately, many of my favorites are NOT there, like Emerald Rose and Unto Ashes, but some are, like Jethro Tull, John Denver, U2 and Iron Maiden. (Yes, my tastes ARE eclectic . . . ) There also doesn't seem to be a lot available for streaming in the way of classical or baroque music, so my station is skewed in favor of rock & heavy metal, simply because those are the albums available in Last.fm's database. On my Last.fm profile page there is a link that goes to all the albums included in my profile. (Please note that I'm really not as much a fan of Madonna as I might appear -- I just happen to like a few of her songs, on various albums -- but I really AM a big fan of Jethro Tull!!!)

I'll be editing out the songs I dislike over time -- I have to wait until they come up in the rotation before I can get rid of them, due to the current rather cumbersome profile editing process -- but eventually this personal station will be a fairly accurate representation of what I like to listen to.

I hope those who listen enjoy it!
