Which religion is the right one for you? (new version)

Not surprising that I scored as a Hindu, since my path is heavily Eastern and I've been to India a few times -- bathed in the Ganges at the sacred city of Haridwar last time I was there. I did think, however, that the Paganism score was on the low side -- I think that might have to do with an implicit bias in the questions, whereby Pagan is equated with Wiccan -- and I am NOT Wiccan! (Wiccan-friendly, but not Wiccan.) I also still consider myself a Christian (although others might not) since I try to live my day-to-day life according to the precepts Jesus taught in the Gospels -- that to me is the IMPORTANT part of being a Christian, not the Resurrection etc. Do like The Guy said -- be nice to one another & don't do anything to someone else that you wouldn't want done to you. As you might surmise, I tend to identify with the Roman centurion a lot . . .

Which leads me to this . . .

You scored as Roman Pantheonic Pagan. You are drawn to the Roman Pantheon. Most names of our planets come from this group, including: Jupiter, Pluto, Neptune, Mars and Venus to name a few. A little less mainstream than your Greek cousins, and often confused for them, you know that there's a difference between the two pantheons and are quick to remind others of those differences. A little more down-to-earth than your Greek cousins, you tend to enjoy fact before fiction, and though no less lusty and romantic, you are more logical about your actions.

What kind of Pagan are you?

Even though my path is heavily Eastern, I generally consider myself to be a mostly Roman pagan -- albeit a rather well traveled one ;) -- and I "react" more to the Roman side of the Greco-Roman pantheon, with a few exceptions. Mars is NOT Ares (Ares is a better dancer, for one thing) and Mars I can "talk" to, but I "talk" more with Hestia and Athena than I do with Vesta and Minerva. Some eclecticism is there, though, since I "talk" with certain deities, or "classes" of deities, from various pantheons. I'm usually on good terms with the trickster/travel/commerce/cleverness god (Mercury, Loki, Ganesha), the smith/tech guy (Ptah, Hephaestus, Vulcan, Weylund, Ogou), Ms. Babe-alicious sex/love goddess (Aphrodite, Freya), Ms. Housefrau (Frigga, Juno, Hestia, Vesta) and the "growing" persons (Green Man, Pomona and Vertumnus, Cousin Zaka) as well as whover is in charge of the Dead -- Oya, Hel, M. le Baron Samedi, my beloved Papa Pluto (the direct translation of Dis Pater, BTW) and of course PERSEPHONE!

I like the Roman pantheon folks since they have more gravitas -- they tend to be more responsible and staid than their Grecian counterparts -- less likely to throw a fit if you don't do stuff EXACTLY right and much more forgiving of ritual faux-pas. They also seem to enjoy helping people more, even with mundane, small stuff. A lot of the Eastern deities are also like that -- especially the wealth ones like Daikoku, Hotei & T'sai Shen -- maybe that's part of the reason why my path is as much of an East-West combination as it is . . .

That was my second highest score -- due mostly to my refusing to say that the presence of the Divine can be PROVED. I don't think it can be PROVED, one way OR the other, just like one cannot PROVE the existence of an afterlife. In both cases one either chooses to believe or not -- one must have FAITH in their existence.

I choose to believe in the existence of the Divine -- without PROOF.
