 | 04:42 pm - A belated start to spring planting Bought plants today at my favorite local nursery -- petunias and sweet alyssum to accompany some geraniums from the grocery store that I plan to put in the planters on the front terrace. Also bought some grape tomato plants and a bell pepper plant plus some herbs -- basil to act as companion plants for the tomatoes and water cress. I picked up some New Guinea impatients too -- might put them in the front terrace bench's planters.
It's been so soggy and cold this spring that I really haven't done anything in the way of gardening, since there was too much chance the plants would rot from all the wetness, as has happened before in similar cold, wet springs. Today was relatively dry, although it may rain later and it is supposed to rain tonight and all day tomorrow. I'll see if I can plant a few things today before the rain starts, otherwise it might be a few days before I can add the new acquisitions to my planters.
