|09:24 pm - I can haz vote?|
Just got back from voting in the Super Tuesday mega-primary. It ended up being a bit of a pain, though, since somehow my name wasn't in the voter rolls.
Luckily, all I had to do was fill out an affadavit ballot and fill out and sign the envelope, along with getting the signature of a poll inspector on the envelope.
Don't know how that happened, though -- I'm a regular voter and have repeatedly worked as a poll inspector for my party myself. (In fact, the others at the table were ribbing me as to why I wasn't there at the table with them, as usual, which had to do with another snafu, wherein the new party chair for the area seems to have mislaid my name and info when she took over from the previous chair, so I wasn't called as I usually am.)
To ensure I'm on the rolls come November and the general election, I filled out a new registration card and popped it in the mailbox as soon as I left the polling place. I also made sure to give my name and contact info to the inspector for my party, so she could pass it along to the new party chair for my area. I expect that I'll be at my usual place early in November, doing my civic duty, without having to deal with any further foul-ups.
