|02:14 am - LiveJournal's on my Naughty list|
I am very cross at the moment with LiveJournal.
My comment notifications seem to be disappearing into the ether of the Net -- half the time they show up in my email inbox, the other half they don't. If I don't happen to notice that the comment number for a particular post has gone up, I don't realize that someone has left a comment at all. (So if I haven't replied to a comment that's been left recently or I took quite a while to reply, now you know why.)
I've also been having my comments being eaten. I've gotten quite a few error messages lately saying the comment didn't post and been unable to recover the post by using the back-button, as I used to be able to do, necessitating my re-writing the vanished comments as best I can from memory.
I've also had problems in posting using the new update page interface. Posts are getting eaten and I have to redo them completely.

Well.. it's been my experience whenever you muck about with software... and particualy "live" web apps... when you fix one thing... you very likely break a dozen other things. LJ is no exceptipon. It's like when a client suggests that I adjust that "one last thing" that changes EVERYTHING ON THEIR SITE...
Thank you -- I hope you and your family enjoy the rest of the holiday season!
Another friend of mine has been complaining about LJ crashing her browser and losing her posts lately, too. It hasn't happened to me, yet, but I try to always highlight any long posts I'm about to make and copy them, BEFORE hitting the link to post it, in case it crashes or disappears.
Hopefully, LJ will get this straightened out soon.
I sure hope so!
My browser has been crashing a lot lately, but I had no idea it could be related to the changes LJ has been implimenting. I've started to do the "copy just in case" thing myself lately, but it's a real pain. :P
