I've just been elected to the Board of Directors of the Church of the Sacred Earth.

Yay for you! Congratulations!
Was that "elected" or "didn't dodge fast enough"? ;-)
Thanks! And I'm happy to see you commenting here in my LiveJournal. :)

I'm glad you like it. I love butterflies -- they're in my default icon too.
I got a bit busy myself with beta-ing someone's fic, so it took me a while to get around to replying to comments. I like getting them, but sometimes I'm a wee bit slow to reply.

You don't know me, but I was playing that combat card LJ game, and when your icon came up with this picture, I had to write you!
I've never seen this picture anywhere else! Where did you find it? I saw a small plaque-mounted copy in an art store years ago, and had to get it. It's my favourite artwork ever. I've always wondered what the story or title of it is, or where it's from. I tried to google the artist's name from the signature on the painting a couple times, but could never find much, and could never find anything about this picture.
I still can't believe we have the same one! How crazy!
I snagged it off the artist's site many years ago now. Not sure if he still even has it up on his site. It's called "Persephone's Magic" by Tom Kidd. I met him several years ago and asked him in person if it was OK with him for me to use is as my avatar/userpic here and on other places on my collection of websites and he gave me verbal permission to do so, with his blessing. :)
I've used it as my "identifier" on the internet for quite a few years at this point -- helps people figure out it's me, not someone else with a similar user ID or name. I like it since it's a happy-type of picture with lots of butterflies (which I love) and it's of Persephone, the goddess I identify with and whose name I've used as my pagan name for almost 20 years, plus she looks a bit like me too, so for me it's the perfect image to use to represent myself online.
