11:52 pm - My own country . . . The Dominion of TheEntwife
I've created my own country at a site called Nation States -- here is the description of it:

The Dominion of TheEntwife

Motto: "To each their own"

UN Category: Capitalist Paradise

Civil Rights: Excellent

Economy: Thriving

Political Freedoms: Average

Location: The East Pacific

The Dominion of TheEntwife is a tiny, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The small, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Law & Order, and Commerce. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 4%. A healthy private sector is led by the Basket Weaving industry, followed by Door-to-door Insurance Sales and Automobile Manufacturing.

Crime is a major problem. TheEntwife's national animal is the otter and its currency is the poplar.

This description is more or less in line with my own views -- as one would expect when creating one's own nation -- have to do something about that crime problem though . . .

The first issue before my Parliament is "Should Democracy be Compulsory?" -- in other words, voluntary vs mandatory voting. Even though I believe folks should vote, I don't feel they should be forced to -- just don't expect much sympathy if you don't like the result!
Current Mood: awakeawake
Current Music: "Otter's Nest Reel" by Emerald Rose
