|06:41 am - Foggy thinking|
I went out earlier to run some early-early morning errands, before the morning rush started. It was all fog outside, swirling around the lampposts like something from Holmes' London -- quite beautiful and quite eerie.
October is the month that gets the press as being spooky and scary, but I've often thought November suits that description better. It certainly felt more Samhain-like now, as the sky began to lighten ever so slightly as I returned home. It had been raining quite a bit all yesterday and most of the night and as I walked through the fallen wet leaves, the scent that came up was of incipient decay, but not in an unpleasant way. To me, that was the scent of Fall -- I'd missed it in October, but it was here now, as the mists enfolded me in a dank embrace.
